The emotional aspect of negative messages appeared to be more actively perceived and faster than the positive and neutral ones. The research done and published indicates that when the participants in the tests were given positive, neutral, and negative messages at a subliminal level the results were not as expected. One of the more interesting developments in the past couple of years is research that indicates that the theory of “positive only” effects may not be the only effective method of reaching the subconscious. Subliminal messaging is not a new concept but still suffers from misunderstandings in media and with with general public. Subliminal messaging is described as a soft form of hypnosis or a less direct type of hypnosis.
